Front Row Seats for the Embraer E-190-E2 Rollout
Embraer introduced the first E-Jet E2 in front of an excited crowd of customers, partners and suppliers in São José dos Campos, Brazil.
The E190-E2 is the first model of Embraer's E-Jets E2 series. According to Embraer, the E2s will deliver significant reductions in fuel burn, maintenance costs, emissions, and external noise with new aerodynamically advanced wings, full fly-by-wire flight controls, and other system improvements. Crane provides the brake control system for the E2 family, as well as proximity sensors and switches and power conversion products. The first E190-E2 delivery is scheduled for the first half of 2018.
Crane and Embraer have built a very strong partnership over the last several years. Crane and Embraer teams have worked closely on the E2, and Sensing Components & Systems VP Rick Jones and Business Development Manager Cory Redeker were pleased to represent Crane at the milestone event.
Cory Redeker was our onsite reporter, saying, "It was a fabulous, well-planned celebration for Embraer, E2 suppliers, and customers alike. Embraer has proven, once again, their ability to execute new programs with the latest technological advances. All attendees seemed very proud of this extraordinary milestone and look forward now to first flight!"
Photos from the event show the celebratory mood of the day, with champagne, thumbs-up and smiles everywhere you looked.
We congratulate Embraer on this major milestone, and we look forward to more from the E2 series!
