Crane to Provide Tire Pressure Indication System for Airbus A320 and A330

Crane Aerospace & Electronics has been selected by Airbus to supply the Tire Pressure Indication System for the Airbus A320 and A330 Family, including the A320neo and A330neo. The system uses Crane SmartStem technology to provide wireless tire pressure monitoring, which improves safety, increases tire life and reduces the chance of operating with underinflated tires.

Crane’s Tire Pressure Indication System will be certified for installation on current and new A320 and A330 Family aircraft. Once certified, it will be offered as standard on new production A330 aircraft, and as an option on new production A320s. The system can also be retrofitted on existing aircraft.

Crane’s Tire Pressure Indication System is an option on the Boeing 737MAX and is standard on Boeing 787 and 777 aircraft, as well as the in-development COMAC C919.

Rick Jones, Senior Vice President, Sensing & Utility Systems
Airbus selected Crane’s Tire Pressure Indication System due to its demonstrated high reliability on large commercial aircraft, having accumulated tens of millions of flight hours of dependable service. Airbus’ selection solidifies Crane’s position as the market leader of tire pressure indication systems on commercial aircraft worldwide.
